An American Federal Serpentine Mahogany Bureau, circa 1785, with original brasses
A very fine American Federal Serpentine Front Mahogany and Inlaid chest of drawers, circa 1780-1790, with string inlays and Zebrawood or Rosewood banding on the chests’ top edging, from the Middle-Atlantic States or New England. The chest is in an outstanding state of preservation and includes the original stamped brass oval Hepplewhite pulls with an acorn motif, and feet. Secondary woods are tulip poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera) and eastern white pine (Pinus strobus). A very desirable form.
