An excellent Regency era mahogany and “conch” shell inlaid tea caddy with a fitted interior, Great Britain, with the original hand-blocked wallpaper interior, and an ivory escutcheon about 1800-1810. The “conch” shell inlay fits within an elliptical reserve, consistent with Regency, Neoclassical designs, both in Great Britain and Federal America

CONDITION: Excellent, with very minimal professional conservation, consisting of a “French” polish with amber shellac, and several applications of microcrystalline past wax, according to museum conservation standards.
