A Charleston, South Carolina Federal Mahogany Pembroke Table, circa 1800

An American Federal inlaid neo-classical mahogany Pembroke or breakfast table made in Charleston, South Carolina circa 1790-1810. A remarkably delicate piece enhanced by its original state of preservation.

Condition: Original "china trade" brass pull, original casters and rollers, minor replacements to line inlays, no breaks or repairs. The drawer runners have been replaced, a replacement which falls under "maintenance" category for a table two hundred years old.

Materials: Mahogany, mahogany veneers, light colored inlays, ash, white pine, and brass.

Dimensions: Height 28", Depth 30", Width (leaves open) 40", Width (leaves down) 20".

Notes: Until recently, the table had been on loan to The Nathaniel Russell House, property of The Historic Charleston Foundation.

Provenance: A Charleston, South Carolina Estate.
